Are you wonderiing how Center Stage of Jackson started and why ?
We had two viable Community Theater groups in Jackson for many years with a long history of presenting outstanding theater with local talent using local facilities.

CLARK LAKE PLAYERS produced 4-6 summer shows at Pleasant View, Clark Lake from 1953-63
Eagle Point , Clark Lake from 1964-1978 and then to the Potter Center at JCC from 1979-2000.

JACKSON CIVIC THEATER around the early 1950's and produced 4-5 shows from fall until spring.

Life changes. It was becoming more difficult to staff shows, etc.,and as more activities were available in the county, the two groups decided to merge in September 2000.

Reorganization started with many meetings. new ideas and new visions
while retaining
our purpose of bringing quality shows to our Jackson Community.

Our first season started in 2000 - 2001 with performances at the Potter Center in the Ruth Day and Baughman theaters. Among the first shows were "ART" "THE MIKADO" and "THE RUNNER STUMBLES".

Watch for our next chapter on CSJ.
